About Us
Mission
CISters mandate is to encourage women to pursue careers in computing and information sciences. CISters provides a supportive environment and positive female role models to promote computing related careers to CISters members. There is no cost to individuals for membership in the CISters organization.
Goals
In addition to providing information and support, CISters intends to sponsor three events each calendar that will raise the profile of women in computing. The events will include speakers, industrial tours, conference attendance, liaison activities with high school students and tutoring/study events. Additionally CISters will provide bursaries and scholarships to female students in computing science programs. The membership will draw both from the student population at the University of Guelph and surrounding high schools and the general population of interested industrial persons.
Constitution
CISters is to be governed by a constitution. A copy of the current CiSters constitution can be found here.
