Welcome to the CISters homepage! CISters was established in 2007 as a result of a low female enrollment in Computing and Information Science at the University of Guelph in both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs. CISters offers a way to network with other females and diversity-sensitive individuals in computing through fun and inspiring events. CISters primary mandate is to encourage women to pursue careers in computing and information sciences, and we also strive to provide a supportive environment and positive female role models to our peers. There is no cost to individuals for membership in the CISters organization.
We recognize that low female enrollment is not a problem which is inherent solely to our department, and welcome members from all disciplines.
